RETAILERS are being invited to create a magical window display as Ilkley Carnival announces its Fantasy and Fiction-themed shop window competition.
Counting down to this year’s May Day event, the competition will offer traders the chance to win 10 hours of free public relations from competition sponsors Approach PR, along with the 2015 Shop Window Competition trophy.
Last year’s winner, Duttons for Buttons, was awarded first place after hand knitting over 40 yellow jumpers in support of the Yorkshire Tour theme. Half of the profits from this year’s Ilkley Carnival will go to the four schools chosen as primary beneficiaries, All Saints Primary School, Ben Rhydding Pre School Playgroup, Ilkley Pre School Playgroup and Ben Rhydding Primary School.
The remaining profits will be shared between local groups and charities that help out on and around the day.
Entries will be judged by the Ilkley Carnival committee members on Saturday, May 2.
