ACOUSTIC duo Winter Wilson are at Keighley’s Baccapipes Folk Club next week.
Highly regarded for their fine original songs, striking harmonies and off-the-wall humour, Winter Wilson – vocalist and musician Kip Winter and guitarist Dave Winter – have a loyal following. Their music covers a range of styles, mainly with a folk-blues feel, and their live performances deliver passion, humour and “refreshing undertones of dry rebellion”.
After playing together for 20 years, Kip and Dave took the plunge in 2012, giving up full-time jobs to make their living from music. They have since established their own cottage industry, writing songs, recording, designing album covers, posters and promotion, setting up tours and spending most of the year living in a camper van.
The duo will be showcasing new material from Cutting Free, the latest of their six albums, at Baccapipes Folk Club on Friday, May 1. The Baccapipes is a not-for-profit organisation, run by volunteers, promoting the best in acoustic, folk and social music. Founded in 1967, the club meets every Friday at Keighley’s Ukrainian Club at 8.30pm.
