MEMBERS of Bradford’s St David’s Society will be heading to Morley next month for the Yorkshire and the North East of England Welsh Hymn Singing Festival.
The event at the Central Methodist Church in Wesley Street, Morley, is on Saturday, May 9 and is expected to attract about 100 worshippers.
This year the singing will be led by Rev Philip Barnett, who is originally from Wrexham but now lives in Deganwy and the organist will be Carey Williams from Y Bala. Most of the hymns are sung in Welsh but spoken parts of the services are bilingual.
The two services are 2pm-3.30pm and then 4.45pm-6.30pm. A collection will be taken to keep the historic festival existing.
