AN APPEAL against enforcement action over unauthorised dormer windows with brown UPVC cladding to the front of a home in Shipley has been dismissed.
The owners of the chalet bungalow built on land at 11 Redburn Drive will now need to remove the UPVC cladding and re-clad the front and rear dormers using materials to match the roof within five months, or remove the dormers completely and reinstate the roof.
Bradford Council took action in September and an appeal was subsequently made, but the planning inspector Jean Russell has upheld the enforcement notice. She stated: “Taking account of the position, size and design of the dormers, cladding their frontages in brown UPVC causes them to dominate the bungalow and appear unacceptably obtrusive within the area.”
