THE majority of residents in West Yorkshire say they feel safer than they did ten years ago, a survey claims.
A report into crime statistics over the past five years shows a decline in the amount of crimes reported in West Yorkshire. But one in five people do not feel safe in their homes.
The figures were revealed in a study by a self-storage company into home security in the UK.
It found a fifth of people in the region are spending more than £500 a year on home security protection but seven per cent have no home security at all.
The report also looked into residents attitudes towards home security and found West Yorkshire to be one of the top spenders in the UK on home security measures. A fifth of people in the region are spending more than £500 a year on home security protection but seven per cent of residents have no home security at all.
