A BRADFORD funeral directors’ boss has turned arty for St George’s Day.
The windows at D Walsh & Son in Manchester Road have been decorated with a seven-foot by ten-foot design of St George and the dragon to mark today’s English celebration.
Mark Lee, funeral manager, spent two hours creating the artwork, which will remain on the shop’s windows until tomorrow.
It is the second piece of window art at the funeral directors after they completed a design including poppies to mark the 100th anniversary since the start of the First World War last November.
Staff hope to create further artistic displays.
Mr Lee said: “It is such a lovely, big window but we had never really used it for anything like this until last year. We have had a lot of people giving positive comments about the St George’s design.
“I just don’t think St George’s Day gets celebrated very often.
“It is quite a bright design and it has received quite a few positive comments from people.”
