POLICE found a stash of drugs in a house after they were called to a burglary.
Bradford Crown Court heard yesterday that officers found the occupant, James Tattersall, had been beaten up and cash and his mobile phone stolen.
But when they searched the premises, in Carden Road, Tyersal, Bradford, they found 130g of MDMA and 98g of cocaine.
Tattersall, 25, now of Sutton Crescent, Tyersal, who pleaded guilty to possessing drugs with intent to supply, was given a 21-month prison sentence suspended for two years.
He was ordered to carry out 200 hours of unpaid community work.
The court heard that Tattersall was naive and vulnerable but had made a great effort to put behind him the environment he had been in.
Judge Colin Burn said a custodial sentence was unavoidable but he accepted that the drugs belonged to somebody else.
