A CAR in the Spen Valley was destroyed by an arson attack today.

Police said a silver Vauxhall Astra parked on Firthcliffe Drive, Liversedge, was deliberately set alight. A spokesman said it was the fourth time in a week that cars had been targeted by arsonists in the area.

Fire crews from Cleckheaton station were called to the scene at about 4.05am.

A fire service spokesman said: "We have been there a couple of times over the last week or so."

Police said another vehicle parked near the Astra was slightly damaged by the fire. No-one was injured.
