BRADFORD Council is urging anyone not yet registered to vote in next month’s elections to sign up before tomorrow’s deadline.
Figures show that the electorate has increased to aroundbout 337,000, said to be on a par with the average electorate for the district over the last five years.
A spokesman for Bradford Council said: “It isn’t possible to confirm a figure of how many people have not yet registered to vote, as changes and movements occur within households across the district that we don’t know about.
“A number of initiatives have taken place to encourage people to register, including door-to-door visits and household forms to every property in the district.
“The deadline to register to vote is April 20, so there is still time left, and we would urge people to register online, or via the council’s mobile app, or in person, by calling into the council’s Electoral Services Unit in City Hall.”
