A CAMPAIGN group is urging West Yorkshire Police and General Election candidates in Bradford to tackle domestic abuse as the number of cases per person is significantly higher than in other parts of the country.even higher than in some of London’s crime hotspots The scheme wants West Yorkshire Police to brief Bradford’s prospective MPs on what they can do in Westminster to help tackle domestic abuse here.
It will also call on West Yorkshire Police to take steps, including issuing all frontline officers with body-worn cameras, to combat domestic abuse by securing more convictions.
The campaign is run by Canterbury Club, a cross-party group of former Parliamentary staff and political researchers who have worked in Westminster on Home Affairs issues and have a personal connection with Yorkshire.
