SCORES of letters have been sent to Bradford Council backing plans to build a bakery on a Girlington street.
Mohammed Ommar Safdar has applied to Bradford Council to demolish his garage at 1 Durham Terrace and build a bakery in its place, selling chapatis by phone order. The business would open from 7am to 7pm.
Although the application was only submitted earlier this month, the Council has already been sent 78 letters of support from neighbouring residents.
The letters are identical, but from different names and addresses. They say: “We feel and believe the owner is of good character and honest.
“We wish him all the best in his new venture and as residents we can only say we support and have no objections.”
Planners will decide on the application late next month.
