CHRISTIANS will be challenged to think about where to put their election cross at an event staged by a debt counselling charity.
Bradford-based Christians Against Poverty (CAP) is teaming up with the organisation Prayer for Bradford to organise the event, called Faith in the Ballot.
Speakers will include Colin Bloom from the Conservative Christian Fellowship and Andy Flannagan from Christians on the Left.
Matt Barlow, chief executive of CAP, said: “Recent findings from the Evangelical Alliance showed that poverty was among one of the top issues for the UK’s two million plus Christian voters.
“We’re keen to see local Christians engage with politicians on the vital issues that matter to them, not necessarily the issues that we hear a lot about."
“We have invited some key Christians from within the world of politics who will be able to speak about their own convictions and answer some questions.”
The event will be held at 7pm on April 29 at the Jubilee Centre, Jermyn Street, Bradford.
Tickets are free but must be booked in advance, by visiting eventbrite.co.uk/e/faith-in-the-ballot-tickets-16232055515.
