GENERAL election leaflets for Keighley Parliamentary candidate Kris Hopkins have been stolen and dumped.
Dozens of the Conservative’s campaign leaflets were dumped in Picture House cinema’s wheelie bin in the town.
The leaflets, with the slogan “Let’s start on the road to a stronger economy”, were stolen from outside the next-door Conservative Party headquarters on North Street.
Around 100 of the My Plan leaflets had been placed with a pop-up publicity board outside Churchill House.
When Mr Hopkins and his team returned from campaigning to find the board about 100 yards further along the road and the leaflets gone.
He said: “Since my early days as a local councillor in Worth Valley, I have placed anti-littering high up my list of personal priorities.
“I am therefore pleased that whoever chose to take my board for a walk had the good sense to dispose responsibly of my leaflets.
“A lout, maybe, but not a litter lout which I must commend.”
