YORKSHIRE consumers looking for information on companies are almost as likely to use the phone as go online, a study has found.
The research from 1,000 consumers in the region, carried out by global research consultancy TNS on behalf of PH Media Group, found 41 per cent of people would still rather have enquiries like opening times answered quickly over the phone than look online.
A total of 39 per cent of 16 to 24-year-olds and 41 per cent of 25 to 34-year-olds in the UK prefer on-hold messaging to a customer service adviser, while 15 per cent of 54 to 64-year-olds prefer this method.
Mark Williamson, sales and marketing director, PH Media Group, said: “The phone remains a key method of communication and a core component in relation to brand image.”
