A 27-YEAR-OLD man has been jailed for two years for a terror campaign against a teenage girl he was trying to force into prostitution to fund his drug addiction.

Zbigniew Dymiter set fire to his 17-year-old victim's hair and cut her with a broken bottle, Bradford Crown Court heard yesterday.

He made her scavenge the grounds of Bradford Royal Infirmary for cigarette butts and ordered her to go into shops in the city and offer herself for sex.

Dymiter pleaded guilty yesterday to putting the teenager in fear of violence by harassment, between June and September last year.

He was in breach of a community order for two offences of battery on the same victim, who cannot be named for legal reasons.

Dymiter was produced from the cells having been remanded in prison for the past six months.

Prosecutor Dave MacKay said he wanted the girl to sell her body to fund his drug habit.

On June 30 last year, he smashed a beer bottle and cut her hand with it.

When she failed to find any cigarette ends in the hospital grounds, he punched her four times in the back and told her to ask passing drivers for money and cigarettes.

Two days later, Dymiter, of no fixed address, punched and kicked the teenager, again telling her to prostitute herself to get him money.

He accused her of having an affair and burned her hair with a cigarette lighter, Mr MacKay said.

He threatened to smash her windows and cut her throat.

On August 12, Dymiter attacked his victim outside a bank in Bradford, pulling her hair and punching her in the face. He was holding a sharp object that cut her leg.

He struck again at a bus stop on September 3, assaulting her and telling her to go into a shop and ask for sex for money.

Mr MacKay said there was a ten year age gap between the defendant and the vulnerable girl.

Andrew Stranex, barrister for Dymiter, said the Polish national was keen to return to his homeland to make a fresh start.

"The offending did not involve actual prostitution of the victim," he said.

The injuries, although unpleasant, were not the most serious.

But Judge David Hatton QC told Dymiter: "You subjected her to terrifying threats. You treated her abysmally."

He added: "You can't behave in this way towards anyone, let alone a young woman such as this."

The judge made a restraining order without limit of time banning Dymiter from having any contact with the girl.
