BRADFORD bakers are being encouraged to support a children’s charity by cooking doughnuts.
National Doughnut Week, held from Saturday, May 9-to Saturday, May 16, is in aid of The Children’s Trust, supporting the UK’s leading charity for children with brain injuries.
A total of £312,000 has been raised since 2005 by the week., when the charity became the week’s chosen cause.
The week’s ambassador, former England cricketer turned TV presenter Phil Tufnell (pictured), said:has also urged sweet-toothed people to buy a doughnut for friends or work colleagues displaying National Doughnut Week posters.“Everyone deserves a treat now and then so , whoever and wherever you are, please get involved. and help make a difference to some very special children,” he said.
Bradford businesses and community groups have been urged to hold their own doughnut day to raise money and donate to make a donation direct to the Children’s Trust.
