IT’S cheers to a Bradford vicar who has brought the church to a city centre pub.
The Reverend Graeme Dutton hosts ‘The Vicar’s Inn’ every Monday night at the Bradford Brewery, Rawson Road. This will involve him being available at the venue to talk to anyone who wishes to speak to him on any issue, which may be affecting them.
Mr Dutton, a Minister of the Bradford South Methodist Circuit, says he decided to bring his work to an unusual location and there has already been plenty of interest in the venture, which started last night. He held an Easter Sunday hymn service at the pub earlier this month.
The Minister said: “It’s about bringing the church into a public place and being available. It’s about being here at the pub and being able to talk to folk. It is the church coming to them.
“It still gives us, in the church, a presence in the city centre. It’s not about me preaching or forcing the church on anybody.
“I will be here for people to listen to them and also talk to them.
“I would be coming here for a pint anyway!”
