POLICE are appealing for information after thieves stole solar powered lights from a graveside.
The incident happened at Rastrick Cemetery in Carr Green Lane, Brighouse, between 7pm and 8pm last Wednesday, and three lights were taken, causing distress to the family of the person buried there.
Audrey Guvenc, Neighbourhood Policing Team co-ordinator at Brighouse Police Station, urged anyone with information to come forward.
She said: “Many people leave items at gravesides, often as tokens of love and remembrance to those sadly missed. This type of behaviour is completely unacceptable and something we take very seriously. I would encourage anyone that has suffered similar thefts to report this to police. Anyone visiting the cemeteries should call police should they witness anyone acting suspiciously.”
Anyone with information about the incident should contact PCSO Brian Mardell at Brighouse Street Police Station on 101, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 08005 55111 and quote reference number 13150140466.
