MEN were encouraged to look after their health when Manningham Healthy Living Initiative and the Central and East European Liaison Service held a Men’s Health Event at Carlisle Business Centre.
Participants were encouraged to sign up for walking, swimming, cycling exercise and weight management courses and have a health check.
There was information about health and well-being initiatives such as stopping smoking, alcohol misuse and issues regarding financial, mental and physical abuse.
Manningham Healthy Living Worker, Alan Anderton, said “It was good to have new people coming along to find out what opportunities are available and how they can look after their health. Men are often more reluctant to seek help or take part in courses and activities designed to support them, so this was an easy, informal and fun way of getting information out to them. More events like these will take place in the future.”
