PEOPLE are invited to attend a Friends of Haworth Central Park meeting next week.
The open meeting will be held in Parkside Social Club from 7.30pm on Tuesday April 14.
A spokesman for the friends said that among the items due to be discussed are the next stage of the new memory garden, which is being developed within the park. The garden is designed to provide people with a tranquil place to remember their loved ones, and to help reduce the number of unplanned, private memorials appearing in the countryside around Haworth.
The spokesman added that the meeting would also be an opportunity to talk about developments related to the park bandstand, the bowling green and this year’s planned summer entertainments.
She said: “We would love to re-start the very successful 1960s weekend as part of the Haworth Festival. Any suggestions for events will be readily listened to and encouraged. We’d like people to come along and help influence the future of the park.”
