BRADFORD Council has offered confirmation that there will be an overnight count at the General Election next month for the results of polling in the district’s five constituencies.
The results for Bradford East, Bradford South, Bradford West, Keighley and Shipley, are expected to be announced in the early hours of the morning on Friday, May 8, at the Richard Dunn Sports Centre in Odsal and the leisure centre in Keighley.
The count follows residents in the district going to the polls on Thursday, May 7, with the count beginning when the polling stations close at 10pm.
The local election ballot papers will be counted at the same two locations on the following Friday afternoon, with the results expected later that day.
Counts for the surrounding constituencies of Batley and Spen, Calder Valley, Leeds North West and Pudsey, will also take place overnight after the polls close on the Thursday.
