TWO generations will come together for a healthy eating event on Friday.

As part of the ‘We Love Eating’ campaign, Shipley-based healthy lifestyle group HALE will be hosting an inter-generational event. Run by Baildon Youth Council, it will be their third event of the year-long campaign, called Good Films and Good Food.

It brings together older people from Shipley and the young people of Baildon.

The day consists of watching a food-focused film whilst enjoying a range of healthy snacks. At the end, the whole group will be invited to discuss the film's issues.

Michaela Baker, youth and community worker at HALE said:ys that activities such as these are important for both groups: “Inter-generational activities are the key to breaking down and challenging stereotypes that both generations have about the other. "

“Through the medium of film, both groups are able to explore their ideas and values and find a common ground. By discussing films, the group will also build their communication skills, both speaking and listening, as well as increase their confidence and most importantly break down any barriers and fear that the groups may have had. Films are a wonderful and engaging way for people to engage in cultural activity.”

It is held at the HALE offices on Westgate from 1pm to 3pm on Friday.
