A CHARITY fashion show in Haworth raised more than £1,400 towards a summer house for the grounds of Manorlands Hospice.
The event, run by Firth’s Boutique, in Haworth Main Street, took place in the Old School Room and raised £1,447, for an initiative promoted by Worth Valley district councillor Glen Miller, whose late wife Vivienne was cared for by Manorlands last year. The charity fashion show had a raffle and auction, and a hot cross bun bake off led by baker Mike Armstrong. Nikki Carroll said: “It was a brilliant evening." and a fabulous atmosphere. Baker Mike was truly exceptional, and his hot cross bun bake off was such fun.
“Our thanks go to everyone who supported the event.”
Cllr Miller also paid tribute to the people who made the occasion a success, adding: “I think it was excellent, the turnout was great and we couldn’t have taken any more people.
“We can now start looking for summer house manufacturers who can give us a good deal.”
