PUPILS at one of the district’s primary schools proved that one man’s trash really is another man’s treasure when they held a “trashion show.”
Lady Lane Primary School, in Bingley, has been teaching its pupils about the importance of recycling and the environment for much of the past term, and just before they broke up for Easter they finished the project by asking children to create clothing and costumes out of waste.
Parents were invited to the show, which saw the pupils strutting their stuff in clothing made out of boxes, crisp packets and even old pieces of a computer.
Head Gill Wilson said: “We’ve been doing a cross curricular project on conservation.
“This involved the children making clothing out of things that would normally be thrown away. They had to be wearable.
