Local primary school pupils are to play a key role when a new £4 million Bradford food store opens Children from Low Ash Primary School at Wrose will help to officially open the new Co-operative food store on Wrose Road, Shipley, on Thursday.
They will join store manager Daniel Pelissier, to open the new store, which replaces a previous shop next door. Three new jobs have been created.
More than £4 million has been invested in the new convenience store which will sell a range of fresh and chilled products, and has an improved in-store bakery, The new store has a customer car park and wider aisles, a National Lottery station and a cash machine. Trading hours have been extended to open an hour earlier than before and opening times are 6am – 11pm every day.
Nicola Bramehas been a 'community pioneer' as part of a new programme giving staff an additional remit to foster a strong involvement in community activity, including volunteering opportunities .
Daniel Pelissier said: “We’re excited about welcoming customers into our new store. The Co-operative is a community retailer and we are committed to playing a real role in local life. I’m delighted to welcome children from Low Ash Primary School to share in our special day, and to play a key role in the opening.”
