DEMAND for new homes in Bradford has risen by nearly 30 per cent since December according to a property 'hotspots' register.
Latest figures from online property specialist eMoov.co.uk show the district among the highest Northern climbers with a 29 per cent rise in demand .
While northern England remains a housing 'cold spot' compared with the south east , the North West has seen the most marked improvement in demand . The top ten hotspots with the biggest turn around in demand since December, are mainly located in the North West, while the North East accounts for half of the top ten coldest spots in the UK.said eMoov.
All the top ten hotspots are in the South East or South West of the country.
In the list of biggest climbers, Bradford is joined locally by Huddersfield and Wakefield which saw rises in demand of 56 per cent and 20 per cent respectively.
Russell Quirk, eMoov founder and chief executive, said: “It’s almost a tale of two halves in the North alone, let alone the North and South. The North West seems to be flourishing as demand for housing increases almost across the board. It is however a very different picture in the North East, as it accounts for a number of the coldest spots in the March Hotspots Index."
