A CAR passenger was taken to hospital with head injuries following a collision between a Renault Clio and a Range Rover.

The crash happened just before 8am at the junction of Spen Lane and Woodlands Road in Gomersal and the Renault was badly damaged in the impact.

Both drivers were uninjured but by the time firefighters arrived a passenger from the Renault was on the pavement with injuries to his head.

Firefighters from the Cleckheaton station administered first aid until an ambulance and paramedics arrived and they also made the vehicles safe at the scene.

West Yorkshire Police also attended.
