THREE young ballerinas have landed roles in a prestigious English Youth Ballet production.
Bethany Firth, 11, Lauren Firth, eight, and Livvi Ellis-Sharp, 12, all attend classes at the PM Gibson School of Theatre Dance near Scholes.
The youngsters, who are trained by Philippa Gibson, take classes in ballet, tap, modern jazz, theatre craft and disco. They auditioned for the English Youth Ballet earlier this month to perform in three performances of Giselle, coming to Bradford this summer, and were all successfully chosen after an open audition at St George’s Hall.
“The girls have all done so well and are looking forward to the start of rehearsals with the company,” said Philippa.
Set on an English country estate, Giselle is the story of a young girl betrayed by a prince. With sumptuous costumes, striking scenery and spectacular dancing, the show brings the classical ballet into the 21st century with warmth, colour and drama.
The English Youth Ballet production comes to St George’s Hall on June 5 and 6.
Tickets are available on (01274) 432000.
