WORK could start next year on the long-awaited redevelop-ment of a sports stadium.
Keighley Cougars bosses will prepare a funding bid in the autumn to install a state-of-the-art 3G pitch, new floodlights and six changing rooms at its Lawkholme ground.
Up to half a million pounds would come from Sport England, with the rugby league club having to find the remainder.
Cougars representatives, the scheme’s architects and Keighley’s Conservative Parliamentary candidate Kris Hopkins met with the sports body to discuss the plans.
“It was extremely positive with good feedback,” said club chairman Gary Fawcett.
