A VOLUNTARY committee is celebrating 65 years of fundraising for Yorkshire Cancer Research.
During that time, the Keighley & Craven group has raised more than £400,430. for the charity.
Activities have ranged from coffee mornings and fashion shows to musical evenings and balls.
Committee chairman Mary Parker said: “Yorkshire Cancer Research – which is funded entirely by donors – has supported vital projects across the county for 90 years.
“It is committed to reducing the devastating impact of cancer on the lives of people living in and around Yorkshire.”
In addition to their usual fundraising activities, Keighley & Craven members are marking their anniversary with two special events, both at the Rendezvous Hotel in Skipton.
BBC presenter Harry Gration will be guest speaker at a lunch on May 10, and a Star Sapphire and Suits Ball will take place on November 21.
Committee chairman Mary Parker said: “These events need a lot of arrangement and investment so we are looking for support in the form of raffle or auction prizes,” said Mrs Parker.
“Or perhaps people would like to join us in our celebrations by purchasing tickets for either or both events.”
