TWO burglars who stole gold jewellery from a house in Bradford have each been jailed for 22 months.
Frank Simpson, 34, and Christopher Wheatley, 52, both of Collingham Avenue, Buttershaw, Bradford, broke in to the house, in Briarwood Drive, Wibsey, after breaking patio doors, Bradford Crown Court heard yesterday.
The pair, who pleaded guilty to burglary, removed two jewellery boxes, containing real gold and costume jewellery valued at a total of £3,000.
Prosecutor Bashir Ahmed said none of the property had been recovered.
Ashok Khullar, for Simpson, said his client’s drug addiction had been his downfall. He had provided information about the whereabouts of stolen items.
Arshad Mahmood, representing Wheatley, said the defendant had lost his job and relationship and got involved with drug users.
