Four villages were chosen yesterday to receive thousands of pounds of Government money to transform their communities.
Ten areas were being considered for £50,000 grants, but it was Clayton; Cross Roads, Brow and Lee, Thackley; and Bolton and Undercliffe that were selected.
Eleven areas in the district have already benefited from Bradford Council's Urban Village Programme which was set up in 2003. It is funded by the national Neighbourhood Renewal Fund.
Under the third phase, the Council's ruling executive, extended the initiative in order to rejuvenate the four villages.
