A woman paralysed in a sky-diving accident is preparing for a mammoth challenge.
Penny Roberts, formerly of Steeton, near Keighley, is planning to cycle 400km along the banks of the River Nile to raise money for charity.
She was paralysed from the shoulders down during a horrific fall 11 years ago but was finally able to stand up again six years ago.
The ride will start with a visit to the Egyptian Pyramids and finish at the Valley of the Kings.
Last year Penny completed another 400km ride, this time across Kenya, to raise money for the same cause, Regain, a charity which supports people paralysed in sporting accidents.
Now Penny is trying to encourage as many people as possible to join her in her latest adventure, which will take place in November.
"I can't wait to do it all again," said Penny. "As I'm disabled I had to learn to use a special bike and because I needed people with me we had to raise sponsorship money for three people not one.
"I wasn't sure I could do it. But I found out you are never alone. It just needs one person to make the effort and everyone joins in.
"I was overwhelmed at the support that came from everyone."
