PLANS to turn a house at a busy city centre junction into a barber’s shop have been refused by Bradford Council.
The application by A Koser would have involved the conversion of 374 Great Horton Road, at the road’s junction with Horton Grange Road and near the Mumtaz restaurant.
Highways officers had recommended refusal, saying customers being dropped off at the business would cause conflict with other road users at the busy junction.
Planners refused the application this week, said: “The location of the proposed commercial unit is such that it would not enable safe or convenient deliveries of goods or of customers arriving or leaving by vehicles parked directly outside the premises.” It was also refused due to the lack of disabled access.
