A BRADFORD man is getting on his bike to raise funds for cancer charities in memory of his parents.
Mark Cunningham, 48, of Mount Grove, Eccleshill, will lead a team of up to 12 riders.
The squad will cycle 150 miles from Bradford to Morecambe and back on Saturday, August 8.
All proceeds from the challenge will go to Marie Curie Cancer Care.
He will complete the challenge in memory of his parents, Jack and Beryl Cunningham, and is looking to raise at least £2,000 from his fundraising feat.
His father died in 2009, after losing his battle with stomach cancer.
His mother died in 2012, suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), the name for a collection of lung diseases including chronic bronchitis, emphysema and chronic obstructive airways disease.
Mr Cunningham said: “Both of my parents spent time in the Bradford Marie Curie Hospice, were I witnessed first hand the brilliant work the staff and volunteers do week in week out. I choose Morecambe because as a child we spent holidays there and have nothing but fond memories of a loving family with very little money at that time.”
