SIX people vying to be Bradford West’s next MP will go head-to-head at a hustings at Bradford Cathedral.
The sitting MP, Respect leader George Galloway, will appear alongside the Conservative candidate George Grant, Labour’s Naz Shah, Liberal Democrat councillor Alun Griffiths, Ukip’s Mohammed ‘Harry’ Boota and the Greens’ Celia Hickson.
The event will be held on Sunday, April 12, at 6.30pm, where candidates will be asked to comment on specific concerns about Bradford, the country and the world as well as the way democracy is – and could be – carried out locally and nationally.
The Dean of Bradford, the Very Reverend Jerry Lepine, said: “The hustings on April 12 is a great opportunity for the people of Bradford West to hear what their parliamentary candidates have to say, and to challenge them to be accountable to the wishes and views of local people."
“I strongly encourage people to join us on that evening.”
Entry is free but places must be booked by calling the Cathedral office on (01274) 777720.
