Police have cordoned off a crime scene after a post office robbery in the district.
The drama unfolded at Eldwick Post Office just after 3pm today.
A silver Ford Focus, believed to be used by the robber, described as a man in dark clothing, was abandoned during the get-away in Sheriff Lane, which runs beside the post office.

Police were called to the Post Office on Otley Road, following reports of the robbery at 3.19pm.
Detective Inspector Stuart Lyons, from Bradford District CID, said: ‘‘We believe three men entered the store, possibly armed with a stick or axe, but then fled empty handed.
‘‘Fortunately, no-one was injured but shop staff have been left understandably shaken by the incident.
‘‘Officers were dispatched to the scene and around 3.30pm a man was arrested from an area close to Glen Road.
‘‘The 22-year-old, who is a local man, was arrested on suspicion of robbery and remains in police custody.
‘‘I'm keen to speak to any witnesses or anyone with information about the robbery.’’
