BRADFORD chippies are hoping taking part in a national scheme to reduce the amount of salt in people’s diets.
Towngate Fisheries in Idle, Peel Park Fisheries, in Bolton Lane, The Fish Shop,, Southfield Lane, Great Horton and Fish Dish in James Street are offering LoSalt, a reduced sodium salt, to customers as a healthier option.
The move is being promoted with educational leaflets and posters and is part of LoSalt’s national GoLo campaign.
Mark Drummond, from Towngate Fisheries, said: “Fish and chips are a huge part of our local heritage and do have a role to play as part of a healthy, balanced diet.
“This initiative means we can offer customers a healthier way to enjoy it.”
