THREE men were arrested on suspicion of theft after police found four containers full of fuel in the back of a car in Birstall last night.
Police were called to a petrol station in Bradford Road, Batley, at about 11.20pm to a report of the driver of a Renault Clio driving off without paying for fuel.
A short time later a similar vehicle was stopped on Bradford Road, near its junction with Church Lane, Birstall, and the fuel containers were found. The three men arrested were aged 26, 25 and 19.
A police spokesman said inquiries into the theft were ongoing.
