A GRANDAD persuaded people to wear yellow and raised more than £400 for a charity that helped save his grandson’s life.
The community worker, who changed his name by deed poll to Muppett, organised a music night at The Castle Hotel in Grattan Road, Bradford, in aid of the Children’s Liver Foundation’s Big Yellow Friday event and made £435.
Singers and musicians gave their time for free to entertain and encourage generous donations from the crowd.
His grandson, Amos Pascal Harker, four (pictured with him), was born with a rare condition blocking his bile duct and needed life-saving surgery when he was nine weeks old.
Despite check-ups he is now doing well although could need a liver transplant in the future.
In the last week of July Muppett will be setting off on a 150-mile walk in seven days round the Yorkshire Dales for the charity again - he has raised thousands of pounds so far on his previous annual walks.
Anyone wanting to support Big Yellow Friday in Bradford or Muppett’s walk later this year can go direct to the Children’s Liver Foundation website.
