ALMOST 800 pupils from across the district will be showcasing their music and dance skills at the annual Schools’ Prom tonight and tomorrow.

The two-night prom will be in St George’s Hall and is organised annually by Bradford Council’s Music & Arts Service.

Now in its 14th year, the Master of Ceremonies for the evening will be actor and TV presenter Chris Clarkson, seen on the BBC’s One Show.

Tony Johnson, head of Bradford Council’s Music & Arts Service, said: “The Schools’ Prom is always a popular event and the two concerts will give around 800 pupils the opportunity to perform in a prestigious venue for their friends and families, showcasing their skills and talent.

“This year we are particularly pleased that the primary and secondary winners of the Lady Mayoress’ Festival of Talent Competition will be performing.”

Cllr Ralph Berry, Executive Member for Children’s Services, said: “The Prom is always a well-attended, hugely successful event and we are so proud to host it each year and demonstrate the support which is given to schools and pupils to embrace this talent.”
