The Bradford Bulls have thrown their weight behind a campaign to get more girls into sports.
Sport England’s national This Girl Can campaign aims to challenge gender stereotypes and encourage more women and girls to take up exercise.
Yesterday, the Bulls joined this push, with first-teamers Matty Blythe and Dave Petersen visiting Tong High School to show year seven girls how to play tag rugby.
The event was organised by the team’s charity arm, the Bradford Bulls Foundation, and supported by social housing group Incommunities.
Nigel Johnston, the foundation’s operations manager, said they were delighted to kick-start the programme, alongside Tong High School and Incommunities.
Tong High School PE teacher Danielle Bose said: “This is a great opportunity for our students to work alongside professionals from the Bulls, supported by colleagues from Incommunities.”
