With Bradford’s nightlife scene on the up once again, here are 15 of the city’s newest bars and pubs to check out, including some set to open their doors in the coming days, weeks and months.

1. Bier Keller, Old Windsor Baths, Randall Well Street, Bradford – This Bavarian-themed bar, with its entrance on Randall Well Street, is set to open on Friday. With outlets currently in York and Newcastle, the venue’s Twitter page describes it as “A real Bavarian wonderland in the heart of Bradford's West End” and promises “live bands every Friday and knee slappin’, stein swayin’, foot stompin’ oompah bands every Saturday.”

2. Tiki-o Bradford, Old Windsor Baths, Morley Street, Bradford – “Lose yourself in a tropical paradise getaway with some amazing Tiki cocktails,” says the Twitter page of this exotic bar, set to open next Thursday, April 2.

3. The Beerhouse, 24 North Parade, Bradford – With a “Warm, friendly, relaxing atmosphere”, next Friday The Beerhouse will become the newest bar to join the expanding scene on North Parade. The project involved a major refurbishment – over eight months – of the former Table Décor furnishing shop. The company’s website promises craft beers, Yorkshire cask ales and home-cooked food.

4. The Old Bank, 69 Market Street, Bradford – This venue closed in 2009, but reopens this Thursday after a £500,000 refurbishment. It’s been brought back to life by the company which also runs the City Vaults, the Ginger Goose and the Lord Clyde pubs in Bradford city centre. The newly refurbished pub is described as "traditional and homely", serving cask and real ales and craft and European beers.

5. The Brewhaus, Old Windsor Baths, Morley Street, Bradford – This new ale house in Bradford’s ‘Alhambra Quarter’ is scheduled to open next month. The front of the venue – in the building formerly home to Varsity and then Envy and Sky Bar – would look out on to Morley Street, and planning proposals included a "secret rooftop garden" with seating for 60 people.

6. Brewfactory, Bradford Brewery, 11 Rawson Road, Bradford – This new pub has sold a "phenomenal" 13,000 pints of cask and keg beer since opening last month in Bradford’s ‘Independent Quarter’. Regenerating the former Shaw's Moisture Metres factory near Rawson Market – a building that had been empty for eight years – the adjoining brewery is producing the first beer in the city centre since 1955. With its menu of hearty pies and ales, the stylish pub is among the first welcome additions to Bradford’s leisure scene.

7. The Potting Shed, 94 Main Street, Bingley – The newest addition to Bingley’s nightlife scene, this bar and grill promises “a whole host of homemade grub” from its open kitchen, as well as “the best cocktails in town, great draft lagers and hand-pulled ales”. Opened earlier this month, the venue is the result of a major £500,000 refurbishment of what was The Fleece pub in Main Street. Many reclaimed and ‘upcycled’ items have been brought together to create the Potting Shed’s quirky interior and garden design.

8. Record Cafe, 45-47 North Parade, Bradford – Opened in late 2014, this venue has many strings to its bow. Incorporating an independent record shop, a charcuterie counter, and a bar serving craft beer and real ale, what more could you want from a cool place to enjoy a drink and a snack in the city centre?

9. 'Top secret' venue – Scheduled for opening next month, this mystery venue is the latest Bradford venture – alongside Bier Keller, The Brewhaus and Tiki-O – from Newcastle-based Tokyo Industries, owners of the former Tokyo and Vampire clubs in the city’s ‘Alhambra Quarter’.

10, 11, 12, 13 and 14. Sunbridge Wells – breathing new life into the Victorian tunnels under Sunbridge Road, this project is set to feature five or six bars when it opens this summer.

15. Hive Cellar Bar, The New Beehive, 169-171 Westgate, Bradford – This bar and music venue, under the New Beehive, opened earlier this month after a refurbishment of the pub’s basement.
