ONE lucky person could scoop £6,000 if they pay their council tax by direct debit this year.
Bradford Council has teamed up with Bacs, the organisation behind direct debit in the UK, for the prize draw. Bradford is one of three West Yorkshire local authorities taking part, with those living in Calderdale and Kirklees also eligible to take part.
Residents who already pay by direct debit will automatically be entered, but anyone who doesn’t currently pay this way will need to sign up by July 31 to be in with a chance of winning. To set up a direct debit, call 01274 437792.
Martin Stubbs, assistant director, said: “Direct Debit is the easiest way to pay your council tax, it saves you time, and gives peace of mind knowing your bills will be paid on time. Also, because it’s the cheapest way for us to collect council tax, it helps us to reduce costs, benefitting all our residents.”
