AN ORGANISATION which helps the homeless has named a new community champion.

The InTouch Foundation works to help those living on the streets in Bradford and surrounding communities and said it had recognised the role Sunrise Radio director Raj Parmar had in various charities in the area.

Osman Gondal, founder and chief executive of Intouch Foundation, said “It is with great pleasure I announce Raj Parmar as our community champion. His community spirit and passion for helping the community makes him a role model.”

Mr Parmar said: “A report last year found that just over 23 per cent of the population are now living in relative poverty.”
