KEVIN Dearden, normally associated with the saxophone or guitar, is returning to his teenage years by playing bass as part of the Julie Edwards Quartet at Undercliffe Cricket Club’s weekly jazz session tomorrow from 9pm to 11.30pm.
Kevin is joined by his personal and musical partner, Derbyshire-born vocalist Julie, plus keyboard player Jason Scott and drummer Caroline Boaden.
Julie was recently short-listed for the Yorkshire Jazz Vocalist of the Year and turned professional after being made redundant from her job in adult education.
She has been doing gigs in and around Leeds for 25 years.
