SERVICES and organisations across Bradford and Airedale have joined forces on an action plan for improving the care for people in a mental health crisis.
The three NHS clinical commissioning groups (CCGs), Airedale, Wharfedale and Craven, Bradford City and Bradford Districts along with West Yorkshire Police, Bradford Council, Bradford District Care Trust, MIND, Sharing Voices, Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Airedale NHS Foundation Trust all signed the Mental Health Crisis Care Concordat in December last year.
They have now developed a joint plan of action to improve services.
Janice Simpson, chairman of the district-wide Mental Health Partnership, said: “This is a real step forward in transforming the care and support available to people experiencing a mental health crisis.
“As a partnership we will continue to work together to make sure the plans make a real difference to the lives of people who have mental health needs within the district.”
The Mental Health Crisis Care Concordat is an agreement between services and agencies involved in the care of people in crisis. It sets out how organisations will work together to make sure that people in crisis receive urgent mental health care.
