FIVE West Yorkshire Police officers retired as a result of depression last year, with two others leaving as a result of post traumatic stress disorder.
The previous year the force lost two officers to medical retirements through depression, two through PTSD and one from stress. The force has said causal factors may not be work related. Decisions to retire officers are made by the Chief Constable, with medical assessments made by a medical practitioner.
