ENFORCEMENT action has begun against a stonemason’s yard which has been expanding without planning permission.
The yard, at Friar’s Industrial Estate, Bradford Road, Idle, was given temporary planning consent last August, Bradford Council’s regulatory and appeals committee heard yesterday.
But a grass verge directly behind people's homes has been affected by the “gradual expansion” of the business beyond the permitted area, it is claimed.
There have been complaints and the council issued an enforcement notice.
A report says the land affected is directly behind people’s homes, and people living nearby had been making complaints about how the business was affecting them.
Bradford Council issued a planning enforcement notice on February 10, councillors were told.
