FIRE investigators are still waiting to find out what started a dramatic house fire in Heaton.
Structural engineers have been at the house in Heidelberg Road to check if it is safe enough for fire investigators to go back in.
Flames tore through a rear extension and attic bedroom on Tuesday just before 9am, blowing out a side bedroom window showering glass onto the street below.
Firefighters from Fairweather Green were joined by a Bradford crew and had to call the back up of a ladder appliance from Leeds to tackle the fire from the outside after the floor collapsed.
All family members were able to get out of the end-terrace house, but a 30-year-old man suffered superficial burns and some smoke inhalation and was taken to hospital for treatment.
A fire and rescue service spokesman at Fairweather Green said: "We still don't know the cause. Structural engineers were going to the house to see if it was safe enough for our investigators to go back in."
